To highlight the versatility and range of eBay Motors’ parts and accessories, this campaign embraced the spirit of overlanding—a growing lifestyle centered around self-reliant travel and adventure. eBay partnered with top automotive journalists, equipping vehicles with over 60 eBay-sourced parts tailored for rugged terrain and real-world challenges.

The event featured a custom-built track in the stunning landscapes of Colorado’s Summit County, designed in partnership with Drive Shop to push the vehicles and parts to their limits. Journalists experienced the vehicles on dirt trails and overland routes, capturing the thrill and reliability of eBay Motors’ offerings.

This ambitious execution required comprehensive production planning, including collaborating with Drive Shop for track design and event logistics, coordinating travel and hospitality for participants, and Producing high-quality photo and video content for wide-scale distribution.

The campaign earned widespread media coverage in leading outlets such as Forbes, Driving, Popular Science, and SlashGear, solidifying eBay’s position as a key player in the overlanding community.

To cap off the campaign, two of the modified vehicles were auctioned on eBay, with proceeds donated to environmental organizations like Leave No Trace, underscoring eBay’s commitment to both adventure and conservation.
